Ekstrakorporal zarba-to‘lqinli litotripsiya qariyb qirq yil davomida siydik-tosh kasalligini davolashda samarali, xavfsiz va kam invaziv usul sifatida o‘zini namoyon etib kelmoqda. Endourologik uskunalarning jadal takomillashib borayotganiga qaramay, EZTL o‘lchami 20 mm dan kichik bo‘lgan toshlarda tanlov usullaridan biri hisoblanadi. Mazkur usulning yaratilish tarixi, klinik qo‘llanilishi, cheklovlari va yuzaga kelishi mumkin bo‘lgan asoratlari haqida yanada chuqurroq ma’lumot olish maqsadida PubMed, Embase, Medline va e-library kabi xorijiy ilmiy manbalar tahlil qilindi. Olingan ma’lumotlarga ko‘ra, davolash muvaffaqiyatiga bemor bilan bog‘liq hamda texnik xususiyatga ega ko‘plab omillar ta’sir ko‘rsatishi aniqlandi. Teridan toshgacha bo‘lgan masofa, toshning zichligi va tarkibi, uning o‘lchami hamda siydik chiqarish tizimidagi joylashuvi — bularning barchasi «stone-free rate», ya’ni toshdan to‘liq xalos bo‘lish ko‘rsatkichiga ta’sir qiladi. Zarba to‘lqinlarini sekinroq tezlikda berish, energiya kuchini bosqichma-bosqich oshirish, toshni aniq nishonga olish hamda apparat va bemor tanasi o‘rtasida to‘g‘ri akustik kontaktni ta’minlash tosh fragmentatsiyasini yaxshilaydi va asoratlar xavfini kamaytiradi
